EcoWave 40 — The New Generation of Solar-Electric Catamarans

The marine industry is entering a new era — one where sustainability, silent cruising and intelligent design are becoming just as important as luxury and performance. Leading this evolution is the new EcoWave 40 by Medasia Marine, a next-generation solar-electric catamaran designed to redefine the future of life on the water.

Developed in Abu Dhabi and now moving into production, the EcoWave 40 combines advanced renewable technology with the comfort, stability and elegance expected from a premium modern catamaran. Designed around clean propulsion and efficient hull performance, the EcoWave represents Medasia Marine’s continued commitment to sustainable marine innovation.

Designed for the Future of Boating

The EcoWave 40 has been conceived from the outset as a true electric-first platform. Unlike traditional boats adapted to hybrid systems later in development, the EcoWave has been engineered around energy efficiency, lightweight construction and low hydrodynamic resistance.

Its catamaran hull configuration provides exceptional stability, generous interior volume and improved cruising efficiency compared with many conventional monohulls. According to Medasia Marine, the vessel is designed to maximize space and range while reducing environmental impact through solar integration and recyclable materials.

At approximately 12.2 metres in length with a 6.18 metre beam, the EcoWave 40 delivers the spaciousness and comfort typically associated with much larger yachts while remaining highly manageable for owners and operators.

Silent Cruising, Zero Emissions

One of the most striking features of the EcoWave 40 is its solar-electric propulsion philosophy. By combining high-efficiency solar arrays with advanced electric drive systems, the vessel offers near-silent cruising and zero local emissions during operation.

This creates an entirely different onboard experience compared with conventional combustion-powered boats:

  • Minimal engine noise
  • Reduced vibration
  • Cleaner onboard atmosphere
  • Lower operating emissions
  • Enhanced connection with the surrounding environment

For coastal cruising, marina living and eco-tourism applications, the experience becomes far more peaceful and immersive.

The EcoWave also reflects the broader transition happening across the marine industry toward electric propulsion and cleaner energy systems.

Luxury Meets Sustainability

While sustainability is central to the EcoWave concept, the yacht has also been designed to deliver a premium lifestyle experience. Medasia Marine describes the vessel as combining “modern luxury” with advanced renewable technology and spacious living arrangements.

The design philosophy focuses on:

  • Panoramic living spaces
  • Natural light
  • Modern minimalist styling
  • High-end finishes
  • Smart onboard energy management
  • Comfortable indoor-outdoor living

The catamaran platform additionally provides excellent deck areas for entertaining, relaxing and watersports activities.

Built in Abu Dhabi

The EcoWave 40 is being developed and produced by Medasia Marine in Abu Dhabi, reflecting the UAE’s growing focus on sustainable marine technology and next-generation waterfront living.

With the region increasingly investing in smart marinas, eco-tourism and sustainable waterfront developments, solar-electric vessels such as the EcoWave are ideally positioned for the future Middle Eastern marine market.

The vessel also aligns with Medasia Marine’s wider sustainability initiatives, which include the E-Clipse solar houseboat range, floating villas and other electric marine projects.

More Than a Yacht

The EcoWave 40 is more than simply another catamaran — it represents a shift in how people may experience boating over the next decade. As battery technology improves and demand for sustainable marine experiences grows, electric catamarans are expected to play an increasingly important role in leisure cruising, hospitality and eco-conscious tourism.

The EcoWave has been positioned as a vessel that combines:

  • Sustainability
  • Luxury
  • Efficiency
  • Comfort
  • Innovation
  • Long-range cruising capability

All within a platform designed for the modern marine lifestyle.

A New Direction for Marine Living

As the boating world moves toward quieter, cleaner and more intelligent vessels, projects such as the EcoWave 40 demonstrate how technology and design can work together without compromising comfort or aesthetics.

For Medasia Marine, the EcoWave represents not only a new yacht, but a statement about the future direction of the marine industry itself.

“The future of yachting is not just faster or larger — it is smarter, cleaner and more connected to the water around us.”
